    The history of Faria Lima's unit in São José dos Campos is intertwined with the creation of Embraer itself. On January 2 1970, when the company got its activities underway, the operational and administrative buildings started being built on an area next to the campus of the Aerospace Technical Center - CTA. The main office building, located at Av. Brig. Faria Lima, was given number 2170 in reference to that important date.
    Parallelly with the construction of the first Bandeirante aircraft, facilities and hangars started lining the area around the airstrip where the São José dos Campos Airport is located.
    As Embraer's headquarters, the unit designs, manufactures, and provides after sales support to the commercial, executive, and defense aircraft market.

    Eugênio de Melo – EGM  

    The Eugênio de Melo unit is located in the district of the same name, in São José dos Campos (state of São Paulo). It was created in 2000, when Embraer acquired an old deactivated factory to house it.
    Focusing on tool development and manufacturing activities, the unit builds piping systems, solder and metalwork, over and beyond large cables (electrical harness assembly).
    In this unit are present deparments such as aircraft engineering development , training activities and employees developmen and Engineering Specialization Program, which aims to prepare graduate engineers in various disciplines to work in the aerospace segment.
     The Engenheiro Juarez Wanderley High School, founded by the Embraer Education and Research Institute, was created to serve disadvantaged youth in the region, is also headquartered there.

    Located in the Galvão Peixoto municipality, in the region of Araraquara (state of São Paulo), the unit was deployed in October 2001 to host industrial activities for the defense and corporate aviation markets and for in-flight testing, which counts with a 5000-meter-long, 95-meter-wide airstrip, the largest in Latin America.
    The plant is also in charge of assembling the wings for the EMBRAER 190 and EMBRAER 195 jets, for modernizing the F-5 fighter aircraft, and for the assembly of the Super Tucano airplanes. The Galvão Peixoto Unit has been responsible for the final assembly of the Phenom jets since 2008.
    In addition, the site operates as a center of aviation services to supply the models that fly in Brazil and to produce furniture for the Phenom 100, Phenom 300, Legacy 600 and Legacy 650 executive jets.

    Botucatu – BOT  

    The Botucatu Unit was the outcome of the takeover of Indústria Aeronáutica Neiva in 1980.
    It is currently responsible for producing the Ipanema crop duster and in charge of marketing, spare part sales and aftermarket support for agricultural aviation.
    It also produces parts and structures for the ERJ 145, Embraer 170/190, and Phenom jets; it assembles the fuselage and subassemblies for the Super Tucano, and manufactures tools, and spare parts for discontinued Embraer aircraft.

    Located at the junction of the Presidente Dutra and Floriano Rodrigues Pinheiro highways,in Taubaté (SP) was announced in April 2008.  The unit there is a Logistics and Distribution Center for spare parts and materials for the manufacture of various Embraer aircraft.
    Every day, thousands of these spare parts and materials from many Embraer suppliers arrive at the unit, where they are temporarily stored and then distributed to the various industrial units of the Company.

    Embraer Liebherr Equipamentos do Brasil S.A – ELEB  

    Located in São José dos Campos (state of São Paulo), ELEB Equipment LTDA was established in 1999 through of a joint venture between Embraer and Swiss group Liebherr Aerospace.

    The company has a remarkable ability in developing, producing and providing after sales support for landing gear and hydraulic and electromechanical components for fixed wing and rotary aircraft. In addition to providing landing gear for Embraer's entire line of aircraft, ELEB is in charge of providing maintenance and support, and of manufacturing and distributing spare parts for those models. It also offers global support to its customers through authorized service centers located in the United States and in Europe.

    Embraer established Beijing Representative Office in May 2000, which covers the overall responsibilities of sales and marketing, customer support and services, government relations and public relations for Greater China. As of Dec.1st, 2011, Embraer enjoys around 76% of China’s regional aviation market.

    In light of the steady growth of its customer base in China, Embraer created its wholly-owned subsidiary, Embraer China Aircraft Technical Services Co., Ltd., in July 2010.     Harbin Embraer Aircraft Industry – HEAI  

    The Harbin Embraer Aircraft Industry Co., Ltd. was jointly established by Embraer and Harbin Aircraft Industry (Group) Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) on January 13th, 2003, in the city of Harbin. Embraer and its Chinese partner hold 51% and 49% shares, respectively. The joint venture manufactures 50-seat ERJ 145 jets in China.

    IIts workforce of highly-skilled technicians, specialize in heavy maintenance, paint, component repair and overhaul for Embraer ERJ 145 & E-Jet family aircraft and well as other aircraft types.

    EAMS offers four types of services: Aircraft Maintenance which include heavy maintenance, inspections, structural repairs and modifications; Composite and Structural which include flight controls and composite components; Accessory and Avionics Components which is comprised of electrical, electromechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, communications and navigation; and Painting which includes a full capability for refinishing a wide variety of aircraft types.  Also, EAMS offers full engineering support from Embraer Aircraft Customer Support to provide all customer needs and requirements.

    In 2008, Embraer broke ground on a new facility at the Melbourne International Airport in Melbourne, FL that will be dedicated mainly to assembly the Phenom 100 and Phenom 300 besides, support the expansion of the Company’s executive jet business. The opening of the new Melbourne facility is part of Embraer’s broader strategy of bringing operations closer to customers and to its largest market, as the Company’s first industrial site in the U.S.

    The 150,000 square-foot Melbourne plant will start operations with the production of the Phenom 100 executive jet, and will also include a state-of-the-art aircraft paint shop, as well as a first-of-its-kind customer sales and design center for Embraer’s full portfolio of executive jets. Customers will be able to design their executive jet’s interior with the use of high-end 3D visualization technology, supported by a showroom with a vast collection of interior finishing materials.

    The unit based in Le Bourget, Paris, was inaugurated in May 1983 aiming to concentrate sales activities and provide technical support to Embraer's new customers in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

    Among its first responsibilities, the highlight was on was providing support to the fleet of more than 50 twin-engine turboprop EMB 121 Xingu aircraft purchased by the French Navy (Marine Nationale) and Air Force (Armée de l'Air), with the first delivery made in 1982. The plant also gained importance on account of the significant increase in the amount of regional turboprop EMB 120 Brasília aircraft in operation in Europe since 1986.

    With Embraer's growing presence in the region, a new service center dedicated exclusively to the fleet of business jets started operating at the unit in 2008, expanding its activities to Russia, the UK, and Eastern Europe.

    To better meet the growing demand in Europe, in 2001 Embraer installed the unit that later, in 2006, would become the Company's official headquarters on the continent. The office is located in Villepinte, near the Roissy Charles de Gaulle Airport, on the outskirst of Paris.

    The unit focuses on commercial and executive jets sales, customer support, management, and information technology, and it markets aircraft and spare parts for the Company's fleet of airline, defense, and executive aircraft operating in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

    In 2008, Embraer announced the deployment of two new plants in Portugal, both based in the city of Évora, south of Lisbon. The units will be dedicated, respectively, to manufacture machined metal structures and composite material assemblies.

    Locating these centers of excellence in Évora resulted from a careful assessment that included several factors, such as potential access to skilled labor, logistical infrastructure, and the presence of the Aeronautical Industry Park near the municipal airport.

    Construction work is expected to begin in early 2010, and the plants are expected to start operating in 2013.

    Established in 1918, OGMA - Indústria Aeronáutica de Portugal S.A. established itself as a major aircraft maintenance company. Located in Alverca, 100% of the company's capital was controlled by the Portuguese government. In 2005, a privatization process was carried out and the winning consortium was led by Embraer. Thus, OGMA went on to be part of Embraer's overall structure.

    Its main activities encompass the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraft engines, avionics, and accessories. It is also in charge of upgrading, modifying, and integrating aircraft and of manufacturing and assembling components and aircraft structures.

    Embraer's office in Singapore was established in December 2000 to serve the Asia-Pacific region. In 2007, the Company established a world-class training center in Singapore, complete with a full flight Level-D simulator. The center provides simulator-based training, classroom and computer-based training, as well as Virtual Procedures Training (VPT) for E-Jet operators in the region.

    In that same year, the Company opened a regional distribution center to provide round-the-clock spare parts support for commercial aircraft customers in the region.  As of 2010, all logistics and spare parts support for Embraer's executive jets is also managed by the regional distribution center in Singapore.
