​Singapore, February 15, 2012 – JetGo Australia Holdings Pty. Ltd. has leased one ERJ 135 aircraft from ECC Leasing, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Embraer. The delivery of the 37-seat jet is scheduled for the end of this month.

JetGo intends to deploy the ERJ 135 from cities on the eastern seaboard to airfields located near natural resource centers and mine sites across the country. The carrier has leased the aircraft to tap into the growing demand for contract services to transport workers who fly in and fly out (FIFO) of non-commercial airports. In Western Australia alone, there are more than 1,000 mine, oil and gas sites that are serviced by FIFO contracts.

Arron Mulder, COO of JetGo, said: “The ERJ 135 gives us the range to access most points in the country and its field performance lets us go where larger jets cannot.”

Embraer regional jets are increasingly being used for contract flying in Africa and Australia, with the platform providing a versatile and highly efficient solution for the transport of personnel. This transaction with JetGo follows on a previous private sale to an Australian company that placed their ERJ 135 aircraft into operation in Africa supporting their corporate transport requirements.

With the delivery of the ERJ 135 to JetGo, Embraer will have 44 jet and turboprop aircraft flying with nine airlines in Australia.
 

About the ERJ 135 regional jet

The ERJ 135 is the smallest member of Embraer’s ERJ 145 family of regional jets. It can fly up to 1,750 nautical miles (3,243 kilometers) and is equipped with Rolls-Royce AE3007A1/3 engines. More than 1,100 jets from the ERJ 145 family platform have been delivered to customers around the world. Today, 33 airlines in 21 countries are flying the 37-seat ERJ 135, the 44-seat ERJ 140, and the 50-seat ERJ 145.
