“We are proud to be a country that has a large aerospace manufacturer, making Brazil a global reference in this sector,” said President Dilma Rousseff, in her speech. “There must be an umbilical link between education, academic and research institutes, and the private sector because life depends on innovation. Knowledge, technology and applied sciences equal innovation, and productive innovation leads to increasingly sophisticated products. Hence Embraer awarded this year.”

“Embraer has innovation as one of its corporate values and strategic vectors,” said Curado. “More than recognition of the past, this award from FINEP is a motivator for the future.”

Embraer won in the special Large Company category, which awards three companies evaluated on various aspects of innovation in corporate management, such as new businesses, efficiency and productivity, technological development, innovation and knowledge management, globalization, partnerships and social innovations. The other companies awarded yesterday were Natura, in second place, and WEG, in third place. This is the second year that Embraer is recognized by FINEP. Last year, Embraer came in second place.

Created in 1998, the FINEP Award is considered one of the main tools for encouraging and recognizing innovation in Brazil. This year, 588 projects were entered in the Award, an increase of 56% when compared to 2011.
