Airlink, Southern Africa’s leading full-service airline added new E195-E2s to its fleet of +75 Embraer aircraft.
The arrival of this new-generation jet marks a significant milestone, as the airline is already the region’s largest operator of Embraer aircraft. From its two hubs in Johannesburg and Cape Town, the airline serves 45 destinations in 15 countries.
With the E2’s 3,000 nm range and lower trip costs, Airlink will be able to further expand its route network across sub-Saharan Africa while increasing both capacity and frequency.
The E2 delivers up to 30% lower trip cost compared to larger narrowbody aircraft.
Airlink connect more towns and cities in Southern Africa than any other regional airline.
Thanks to improved aerodynamics and more efficient engines, the E2 can now fly up to 3,000 nautical miles.
The first three E2’s delivered to Airlink will feature a single-class configuration. Subsequent aircraft will offer a dual-class layout. In both configurations, there will be no middle seats.
