Painting Positively with Embraer
--
Imagine crafting a thing of beauty—a painting, a structure, or even a machine.

Now imagine the feeling of complete satisfaction that comes with knowing that every step of the way, as you were performing with utmost efficiency, you were also creating something with equal impact and functionality.
Could there be a better feeling than knowing your work will help mankind become better performers while minimizing environmental impact?
Now you know the same feeling we at Embraer get every time we build our aircraft.
Because building aircraft of the future should be synonymous with creating a more sustainable tomorrow, and that starts with the initiatives and processes we assume today.
Painting Positively
One example of our contribution to that greener future is our decision to switch to an entirely electrostatic paint approach for every one of our business jets, from the entry-level Phenom 100EV to the super-midsize Praetor 600.
The electrostatic paint process begins with each aircraft exterior receiving a negative charge. The paint, in contrast, has a positive charge. You can guess what happens next. As paint is hand-sprayed, it is positively attracted to the surface. Not only is less paint likely to escape the surface due to this attraction, but it also applies more evenly.
The result is a durable, smooth and beautiful finish. And while the electrostatic process accounts for a more flawless appearance, it also significantly reduces overspray and exposure.
The implementation of this initiative has reduced our paint usage by over 35% per aircraft. This translates to greater efficiency and less environmental impact from our painting process.
As Embraer continues to find new ways to implement greener practices into our aircraft production, designs and operations, we remain committed to our vision of delivering the ultimate experience in business aviation, all while creating a more sustainable tomorrow.
With this clear focus, we are determined to show what can happen when creativity meets sustainability.
