A New Trend in Aerospace: Embraer's Bossa Nova Interior Design

Making its debut in the late 1950s, a group of musicians came together to create a new style of music — Bossa Nova.

At the time, these musicians likely thought it was a simple fusion of soft samba and American jazz, but it became much more than that. The sound of Bossa Nova traveled across the tropical beaches of Rio de Janeiro and permeated Brazilian culture. The melodies, harmonies, and rhythms, paired with the inventive, prescient Portuguese lyrics formed to create something entirely different, a new, unique style. And when you translate “bossa nova,” that’s exactly what it means — “new trend” or “new style.”

This is why we named Embraer’s preeminent optional interior package Bossa Nova. It is the newest trend in aerospace interiors, and it’s available in the Phenom 300E, Praetor 500, and Praetor 600.

Sophisticated and Elegant Interior

Embodying the elegance of Brazil’s renowned style of jazz, the carbon fiber surfaces dance gracefully with the custom quilted seat stitching inspired by the famous sidewalks of Ipanema Beach in Rio de Janeiro.

Gracing the architectural surfaces that otherwise would be covered in veneer is a new carbon fiber surface application made from prefrag material used in automotive racing. The lighting reflects off the gold accents and piano black details, creating different moods, depending on the time of day that you’re flying.

In a sophisticated and elegant way, the aesthetics of this interior bring a simplicity to the mind and a relaxation found in no other aircraft. When combined with our already innovative interior DNA, the Bossa Nova edition provides an exclamation point to three jets that deliver the ultimate experience in private aviation — the disruptive Praetor 500, Praetor 600, and Phenom 300E, all of which lead the way in performance, comfort and technology.

Trending Since 2018

Introduced in the super-midsize Praetor 600 in 2018, the Bossa Nova edition interior won the award for Best Interior Design at the 2019 International Yacht & Aviation Awards. In 2020, this interior design option became available on the all-new Phenom 300E and was nominated at the 2020 International Yacht & Aviation Awards for Best Interior Design.
