The Middle East stands on the brink of an intra-regional connectivity transformation. Despite bold national aviation strategies and major infrastructure investments, only 22% of Available Seat Kilometers (ASKs) in the region are dedicated to intra-regional routes, below Europe’s 52% and North America’s 64%, according to Embraer’s latest report. This gap underscores a significant opportunity to strengthen regional ties and boost operational efficiency. The report leverages Embraer’s market analysis, revealing that new-generation small narrowbody aircraft, such as the E-Jets E2 family, can unlock over 120 unserved city pairs, increase flight frequencies, and right-size fleets for profitability. Many intra-regional markets operate with low load factors, making them ideal candidates for smaller aircraft that improve route economics and network resilience.

The findings highlight the need for more direct flights, higher frequencies, efficient hubs, and a strategic focus on right-sized aircraft. Download the full report and join the movement to connect the Middle East—smarter, faster, and more sustainably.
