Tactical radar

The KC-390 Millennium is equipped with advanced Tactical Radar, featuring Spot SAR (Spotlight Synthetic Aperture Radar), weather, air-to-air, navigation, air-to-ground and high resolution modes.

Optional additional crew member station

An optional third crew station in the cockpit, equipped with an integrated display, communication system and mission controls, supports efficient coordination on advanced missions including Search & Rescue and Aerial Refueling.

Advanced Cargo Handling System

The flexible Cargo Handling and Aerial Delivery System (CHADS) supports a wide range of cargo configurations. It enables efficient loading and unloading of vehicles, 463L pallets, Type V platforms and CDS bundles, while also supporting automatic airdrop during flight.

Loadmaster station

From a protected station, the loadmaster can control and operate the Cargo Handling System, enhancing situational awareness and enabling efficient cargo handling and deployment.

Continuous Computed Drop Point

For the air delivery mission, the Continuous Computed Drop Point (CCDP) algorithm uses altitude, speed and wind to define the optimum release point to reach the drop zone. It allows for manual or automatic cargo release.

Strut stabilizer

The Hydraulic Strut Stabilizer is an important feature for remote and autonomous operation. Commanded from the Loadmaster Station, it conveniently stabilizes the aircraft reducing time on the ground and minimizing vulnerability in hostile environments.

Self-protection

The KC-390 Millennium Self-Protection System combines a broad range of Detection & Declaration devices (Radar Warning, Laser Warning and Missile Approach Warning) and capable Countermeasures (Chaff & Flare and DIRCM), enhancing the aircraft security in hostile scenarios. The aircraft also features an On Board Inert Gas Generating System (OBIGGS) to reduce flammability of its fuel tanks as well as fixed and removable ballistic protection in specific areas such as the cockpit and the Loadmaster Station.

Mission systems

The KC-390 Millennium integrates multiple sensors to deliver advanced multi-mission capabilities. Tactical SAR radar, EO/IR pod and mission computers enable flexible deployment across a wide range of operational scenarios.

NVIS

The KC-390 Millennium interior, exterior and cockpit systems are fully compatible with Night Vision Imaging Systems (NVIS).

Onboard Maintenance System OMS

A fully integrated Onboard Maintenance System provides diagnostic information to maintenance crews, facilitating troubleshooting, reducing downtime and costs, and ensuring airline-level availability.

The KC-390 Millennium environmental control system is modern and efficient, featuring a heated floor, precise temperature control and low cabin altitude. Combined with a spacious cargo compartment and low internal noise levels, it enhances comfort during any mission.
